Project Summary

We implemented a production-ready test solution for the RF transceiver on the Teradyne UltraFLEX platform. The program includes DC/power tests, RF parametrics (S-parameters, P1dB, IP3, NF), EVM and modulation checks, spurious and ACLR tests, mixed-signal calibration, digital interface validation and thermal qualification across operating extremes.

Test Development Approach

  1. DC & Power: Measure supply currents across modes, verify power sequencing and standby/leakage currents.
  2. RF Parametrics: S11/S22, TX P1dB/IP3, RX NF, ACLR and spectral mask tests across target bands.
  3. Modulation & Baseband: EVM, modulation accuracy, demod verification and data interface integrity.
  4. Calibration: IQ imbalance, LO leakage correction, AGC loop tuning and temperature compensation.
  5. Qualification: Thermal cycling, stress tests, and post-stress parametric verification.

Load Board & RF Hardware Highlights

  • Controlled-impedance RF routing with precision connectors and switch matrix for routing TX/RX paths.
  • Calibration network (open/short/load) for on-board RF calibration and traceable measurements.
  • Shielded compartments and ground-isolation to minimise site-to-site RF coupling.
  • Programmable attenuators and pre-select filters per band for accurate linearity and ACLR testing.
